Imported chemical raw materials and preparations are no longer mandatory for batch inspection

On 26 April, the State Drug Administration issued the “Announcement on the Relevant Matters Concerning the Inspection of Imported Chemicals for Customs Clearance” to specify the relevant matters concerning the inspection of imported chemical drugs for customs clearance: Imported chemical raw material medicines and preparations (excluding chemical products sold for the first time in China) are no longer subject to mandatory inspections on a batch basis when imported; the drug regulatory authority of the port where the importation of chemical drugs is filed no longer issues the “Notice of Imported Drugs Port Inspection” and the Port Drug Control Office no longer test  imported chemicals at the port.
