In our country, one of the main functions of soybeans is to refine vegetable oil products such as soybean oil. Hexane is the main solvent for vegetable oil leaching. What impact will the surge in soybean imports have on the hexane market?

First of all, raw material prices continue to remain high, and n-hexane has shown a narrow upward trend in the past month. In the early stage, some manufacturers stopped production for maintenance due to external factors, resulting in a significant reduction in the supply of 80% of n-hexane. In the off-season of demand, the price of n-hexane is still rising against the trend. Recently, the operating rate of manufacturers such as Dongying Junyuan has increased, and the supply of n-hexane has been slowly increasing. Although the number of imported soybeans has increased sharply, it will take time from the port to the final delivery of vegetable oil to the terminal. Superimposed summer is the traditional low season for soybean oil consumption in my country. Under the supply and demand game, it is expected that soybean oil stocks may continue to increase, and the short-term market is still in oil plants. In the context of limited saleable resources, spot prices are firm, but with the gradual increase in supply, weak and stable prices are now inevitable. The saturation of end products may limit the transaction of n-hexane. On the other hand, vegetable oil leaching accounts for less than 30% of the downstream consumption of n-hexane. The demand in the chemical industry is still the main channel for n-hexane consumption. Therefore, the increase in imported soybeans has always had a limited impact on the price and market of n-hexane.

With the opening of the third quarter, we expect that n-hexane may rise steadily in the later period.
